  • Recommendation

    That the July 12, 2022, Regular Council Meeting Agenda be adopted as presented.

  • Recommendation

    That the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held June 28, 2022, be adopted as presented.

Paul Wilson, President of the LaSalle Friendship Club, appearing before Council to present a cheque as a thank you for the use of Town Facilities.

The purpose of the Meeting to Consider is for the Engineer to present their Report regarding a Minor Improvement to the Lepain Drain, to Council for consideration. At the Meeting the landowner affected by the proposed drainage works will have the opportunity to provide comments and pose questions with respect to the proposed works. In consideration of the Report and landowner comments, Council will decide whether or not to proceed with the project provisionally adopting the Report by By-law. Council has the ability to refer the Report back to the Engineer for modifications and has the ability to terminate the report if it no longer meets the Minor Improvement Project criteria. Under the Minor Improvement process, the landowner has the right to appeal the assessment or other aspects of the Engineer’s Report would go to the Drainage Referee instead of a Court of Revision.

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Director of Public Works dated June 6th, 2022 (PW-13-2022) regarding approval of the Lepain Drain Minor Improvement Report be received;

    And that, Council adopts the Lepain Drain Minor Improvement Report, dated June 21, 2022, authored by Dillon Consulting;

    And that, By-law 8715 being a by-law to provide for the minor improvement of Lepain Drain be provisionally adopted.

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Director of the Strategy and Engagement Department dated May 31, 2022 (SE-03-2022) regarding the Naming of the Waterfront be received;
    And that, the naming of the waterfront to Petite Côte Waterfront be approved.

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Manager of Roads and Parks dated May 2, 2022 (PW-10-2022) regarding the request for Tree Planting Policy be received;

    And that, the Tree Planting Policy be approved.

  • Recommendation

    That the application for a Tile Loan in the amount of $50,000.00 under The Tile Drainage Act, as submitted by Pajot Farms Limited for the property located at Short Snake Lane E/S, more particularly described as Concession 2 Part Lot 6 and Part Lot 7 be approved subject to the eligibility of the loan application under this program;

    And further that, Council approves the appointment of the Town’s Manager of Engineering as the Drainage Inspector.

  • Recommendation

    That correspondence dated June 1, 2022, from the City of Cambridge requesting support for a motion that Ontario Must Build it Right The First Time, be received.

  • Recommendation

    That the Report of the Chief Administrative Officer dated July 12, 2022, being a Summary of Reports to Council be received.

  • Recommendation

    That the following By-law be given a first, and second reading:

    8715 - A By-law to provide for the Minor Improvement of the Lepain Drain in the Town of LaSalle, in the County of Essex

  • Recommendation

    That the following By-laws be given a first, second, and third reading and finally passed:

    8717 - A By-Law to authorize the execution of a Developer’s Severance Agreement with Malcom Murdoch MacDougall and Christine Isabel MacDougall

    8718 - A By-law to amend the Forest Trails Phase 3 Subdivision Agreement

    8719 - A By-law to appoint Michael Cappucci, Manager of Engineering, as Drainage Inspector for the Corporation of the Town of LaSalle

    8720 - A By-law to authorize the execution of a Developer’s Subdivision Agreement with Trinity Woods Inc.

    8721 - A By-law to authorize the execution of a Developer’s Subdivision Agreement with 2544236 Ontario Inc.

1. That Administration prepares a report regarding regulations and bylaws surrounding Airbnb's in the Town of LaSalle.
