We acknowledge that the ground on which we live is the Traditional territory of the Caldwell First Nation; of the Three Fires Confederacy and the original people of Point Pelee & Pelee Island and its surrounding lands and waters, and that of the Huron-Wendat and Wyandot Peoples.  We recognize and respect the First Nations who are stewards of the land and waters of Turtle Island and who have embraced the stewardship since time immemorial.  We would also like to acknowledge the contributions of other nearby First Nation communities and all Original People across Turtle Island.

  • Recommendation

    That the minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held September 14, 2021 be adopted as presented.

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Supervisor of Planning & Development Services of LaSalle dated August 27, 2021 (DS-33-2021) regarding Vel Developments - Huron Acres Subdivision be Approved and that Council recommend to the County of Essex’s Manager of Planning Services, that they grant draft approval to a Draft plan of Subdivision (as per Figure 4) for the subject lands, and that the County of Essex be requested to attach the following conditions to the subject draft plan of subdivision approval:

    1. that the required storm water management plan be prepared by the Applicant and approved by the Town Engineer and ERCA Staff;
    2. that all identified road allowances be conveyed to the Town;
    3. that a subdivision agreement be entered into with the Town to ensure that all required municipal infrastructure and services are designed and built by the Applicant to the satisfaction of the Town, and that all required financial contributions be made and/or secured to the Town, including all required letters of credit, cash securities and insurances;
    4. that Block 11 be dedicated for storm water management purposes;
    5. that Block 16 be conveyed to the Town for pedestrian access and the installation and maintenance of underground municipal services;
    6. that Block 17 & 18 be conveyed to the Town as one-foot reserves.

    Once the County of Essex has granted draft approval to the Applicant’s Draft Plan of Subdivision:

    1. that the required subdivision agreement be prepared and executed to Council’s satisfaction;
    2. that the required zoning by-law amendment, rezoning the subject lands in accordance with the corresponding land uses recommended in this Staff Report, be prepared by Town Staff and brought to Council for adoption purposes.
  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer dated September 6, 2021 (PW-27-2021) regarding the Malden Road Environmental Assessment Addendum be received and that Council approve in principle the EA Addendum Report and issuance of the Notice of Study Completion.

  • Recommendation

    That the Report of the Chief Administrative Officer dated September 28, 2021 being a Summary of Reports to Council be received.

    That the following By-laws be given first reading:

    8613 A By-Law to authorize the acquisition of certain lands for a second fire station development within the Town of LaSalle

    8614 A By-law to confirm the donation of Lots 946 and 947, both inclusive, Plan 793 Sandwich West in the Town of LaSalle, in the County of Essex, from Mancel C. Wagner

    8615 A By-law to confirm the donation of Lots 636 and 637, Plan 1064 Sandwich West and Lots 25 to 29, both inclusive, Plan 743 Sandwich West in the Town of LaSalle, in the County of Essex, from Theresa Kamrad

    8616 A By-law to authorize execution of an Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of LaSalle and Public Sector Digest Inc. for the purchase of CityWide Budgeting Software

    8617 A By-law to authorize execution of an Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of LaSalle and Public Sector Digest Inc. for the purchase of CityWide Budgeting E-Permits software

    8618 A By-law to authorize the execution of a Developer's Severance Agreement with Marilyn Joan Woodrich
