  • Recommendation

    That the June 14, 2022, Regular Council Meeting Agenda be adopted as presented.

  • Recommendation

    That the Minutes of the Closed and Regular Meetings of Council held May 24, 2022, be adopted as presented.

Jeff Casey founder of Play For A Cure, appearing before Council to thank the Town of LaSalle Staff for their contribution, time, and effort towards the Play For A Cure Event. 

Gordon Orr, Chief Executive Officer, Lynnette Bain, Vice President, Destination Development, and Jason Toner, Director of Marketing & Communications of Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island appearing before Council to present plans for 2022, and unveil the new 2022/2023 Official Visitor Guide.

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Manager of Engineering dated May 24, 2022 (PW-11-2022) regarding the LaSalle Small Coast Dock Removal be received;

    And that Council approve the award of the marina dock removal work to Hotte Marine for the quoted price of $76,500 plus HST, and fund this amount through the Small Coast Waterfront Experience budget.

  • Recommendation

    That the Report of the Council Coordinator dated May 9, 2022 (CS-2022-07) regarding the establishment of a Municipal Election Compliance Audit Committee for the 2022 Municipal Election be received;

    And that the Municipal Election Compliance Audit Committee Terms of Reference included as Schedule 1 be approved;

    And that the Clerk be authorized to bring forward recommendations to Council to appoint members to the Committee.

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Director of Planning and Development dated May 16, 2022 (PBP-17-2022) regarding the recently approved Provincial Bill 109 and subsequent amendments to the Planning Act be received;

    And that Council approve the site plan delegation by-law (within the by-law section of the agenda) in accordance with the provincially legislated requirements, which delegates site plan approval authority to staff and appoints the Director of Planning and Development, Gudrin Beggs and, in the alternative Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, as the assignees responsible to oversee and approve site plan control applications.

  • Recommendation

    That correspondence dated May 16, 2022, from the County of Essex, regarding the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit requesting support for the Active School Travel Charter for Windsor-Essex County be received;

    And that Council endorse the Active School Travel Charter for Windsor-Essex County and provide a letter of support to Windsor-Essex County Health Unit on behalf of the Town of LaSalle.

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Supervisor of Accounting dated May 17, 2022 (FIN-17-2022) regarding the April 2022 Financial Statement and Financial Reports be received.

  • Recommendation

    That correspondence dated May 3, 2022, from the Office of the Solicitor General, regarding the completion of the Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan for the City of Windsor and the County of Essex, be received.

  • Recommendation

    That correspondence dated May 17, 2022, from the City of Cambridge requesting support for Free Public Transportation on Election Day be received. 

That the Report of the Chief Administrative Officer dated June 14, 2022, being a Summary of Reports to Council be received.

  • Recommendation

    That the following By-laws be given a first, second, and third reading and finally passed:

    8703 - A By-law to amend By-law number 7852 being a By-law to establish User Fees or Charges for Services, Activities or the Use of Property

    8709 - A By-law to appoint an authorized designate to oversee and approve site plan control applications on behalf of the municipality

    8710 - A By-Law to authorize the execution of a Developer’s Severance Agreement with Carlo Casoni               

    8711- A By-Law to authorize the execution of a Developer’s Severance Agreement with Vito Chisesi, Caterina Chisesi and Ayat Hussein

    8712 - A By-law to amend By-Law 8178 which authorized the execution of a Tower Lease Agreement with Telus Communications Company and to repeal By-Law 8515 which amended By-Law 8178

  • Recommendation

    That the Minutes of the Fire Committee dated May 19, 2022, be received:

    And that all Committee Matters be approved.

  • Recommendation

    That the Minutes of the Parks, Recreation and Events Committee dated May 19, 2022, be received:

    And that all Committee Matters be approved.

  • Recommendation

    That Confirmatory By-law 8713 be given a first, second, and third reading and finally passed.
