  • Recommendation

    That the August 27, 2024, Regular Council Meeting Agenda be adopted as presented.

  • Recommendation

    That the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of Council held on August 13, 2024 be adopted as presented.

  • Recommendation

    That Council endorses the appointments of the following individuals to the Essex Region Source Protection Committee for a term of five (5) years:

    Kirk Walstedt, Union Water Supply System
    Jason Barlow, Municipality of Lakeshore
    Antonietta Giofu, Town of Amherstburg

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Director of Strategy and Engagement dated July 19, 2024 (SE-03-2024) regarding a LaSalle Transit Update and Master Plan be received.

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Manager of Finance/Deputy Treasurer dated July 25, 2024 (FIN-20-2024) regarding the Fire Station 2 debt issuance be received;

    And that, the application for a loan with Infrastructure Ontario for Fire Station 2 project for an amount of $9,000,000 with a 20-year term and a locked-in interest rate determined at a point in time at which the debenture is to be issued be authorized.

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Director of Culture and Recreation dated August 8, 2024 (CR-2024-22) regarding a pilot project to offer a reduced rate for schools renting soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and ice pad facilities be received;

    And that, the Town continues to offer a reduced rate for schools renting soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and ice pad facilities for school sanctioned, non-competitive use;

    And that, for the purposes of this rate, school be defined as an elementary or secondary school located within the Town of LaSalle and administered by the Ontario Ministry of Education;

    And that, the By-law to establish User Fees or Charges for Services, Activities or the Use of Property (8670) be amended to extend the early bird ice rental fee for schools from Monday to Friday until 3:00 pm and to include a fee reduction of 50% from Monday to Friday until 3:00 pm for schools renting soccer fields and baseball diamonds.

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Manager of Roads and Parks dated August 2, 2024 (PW-31-2024) regarding 2024 alternating parking on Oakridge Street be received;

    And that, Council approves the implementation of alternating parking on Oakridge from the east intersection at Reaume Road to the west end of the paved laneway. 

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Manager of Roads, and Parks dated August 2, 2024 (PW-30-2024) regarding the alternating parking request on Jolly Avenue be received;

    And that, the request for the implementation of alternating parking on Jolly Avenue from Runstedler Drive to the curve on Jolly Avenue be denied.

  • Recommendation

    That the report of the Director of Public Works dated August 9th, 2024 (PW-29-2024) regarding the Front Road Master Drainage Study Stage 2 Final Report be received;

    And that, Council approves the final Stage 2 Environmental Assessment Report;

    And that, Council authorizes the issuance of the Notice of Study Completion.

  • Recommendation

    That an Administrative report be prepared regarding parking regulations during snow events. 

     

  • Recommendation

    That an Administrative report be prepared to review the parking bylaw including alternate parking provisions and parking regulations during snow events.

  • Recommendation

    That the following By-law be given a first, second, and third reading and finally passed:

    8917- A By-law to approve the submission of an application to Ontario Infrastructure and Lands Corporation (“OILC”) for the long-term financing of certain capital work(s) of The Corporation of The Town of LaSalle (The “Municipality”); and to authorize the entering into of a rate offer letter agreement pursuant to which the Municipality will issue debentures to OILC

  • Recommendation

    That Confirmatory By-law 8920 be given a first, second, and third reading and finally passed.
