Justina Ciarlariello, Skate LaSalle, appearing before Council to request a waiver of fees for the use of the Vollmer Complex Multipurpose Room for the 2023 Super Series LaSalle Skate Competition, which took place on January 27-29, 2023.

Play For A Cure

Jeff Casey, Play for a Cure, appearing before Council to request a waiver of fees for use of the Vollmer Complex Multipurpose Room and ice fees for the Play For A Cure event taking place on Friday, April 14, 2023.

1.

Skate LaSalle Fee Waiving Request

• Recommendation

  That the report of the Director of Culture and Recreation dated January 17, 2023 (CR-2023-09) regarding the request from Skate LaSalle to waive the Vollmer multi-purpose room rental fees be received and that the Policy for Waiving or Reducing Fees Related to Use of Town Owned Facilities and Spaces (M-CR-007) be adhered to and further that all fees for the event be charged in accordance with Schedule F of the User Fee By-law (By-law Number 8670).

Play for a Cure Request for Waiver of Fees

• Recommendation

  That the report of the Director of Culture and Recreation dated December 13, 2022 (CR-2023-02) regarding the request from Play for a Cure to waive all Town of LaSalle fees be received and that the Policy for Waiving or Reducing Fees Related to Use of Town Owned Facilities and Spaces (M-CR-007) be adhered to and further that all fees for the event be charged in accordance with Schedule F of the User Fee By-law (By-law Number 8670).

Naming of Waterfront Consultation Results

• Recommendation

  That the report of the Director of Strategy and Engagement dated January 25, 2023 (SE-01-2023) regarding the Naming of the Waterfront Consultation results be received;

  And that Council determines a name for the lands associated with the Waterfront Park project, located on the west side of Front Road, from Adams Lane to Ulster Street.

Hwy 401 Entrance signs

• Recommendation

  That the report of the Deputy CAO dated January 17, 2023 (AD-03-2023) regarding the Hwy 401 entrance signs, be received:

  And that Council approves proceeding with enhanced boundary signs installed and maintained by the Ministry of Transportation for $30,000, which amount shall be paid from the strategic planning budget.

5.

Event Centre Entrance Garden

• Recommendation

  That the report of the Deputy CAO dated January 23, 2023 (AD-02-2023) regarding the Event Centre entrance garden, be received;

  And that Council approves the proposed concept of the garden and a transfer of $50,000 out of the waterfront landscaping budget for the Event Centre entrance garden project.
